The Communication & Works Department plays a vital role in clearing roads under its jurisdiction during the winter season, particularly in snowbound areas. During the recent floods of August 2025, the Department effectively cleared and restored roads within the shortest possible time, thereby ensuring safe passage for the general public and line departments. A departmental team will shortly be notified to serve as a central coordinating body for effective communication and information sharing among all concerned.

A well-defined mechanism for the upcoming winter season 2025–26 will be established, with the Executive Engineer as overall in-charge of the district, while the Sub-Divisional Officers will assist in coping with any emergency. The Chief Engineers shall supervise and ensure effective management of their respective teams within their jurisdiction.
